FAMILIES CAN BE TOGETHER FOREVER, an autobiographical documentary.
Families Can Be Together Forever follows the filmmaker’s journey out of the Mormon church—a journey unexpectedly aligned with her first pregnancy. The film depicts her pregnancy from start to finish while exploring the emotional and spiritual weight of leaving Mormonism, its effect on the mother she hopes to become, and its effect on the mother who raised her. Using 8mm archival footage, video from Mormon sermons, and cinema verite shots throughout her pregnancy, this film speaks to the universal experience of choosing your own way and what that does to those who raised you.
SEALED, a radio documentary on the lingering effects of divorce.
Read of the production process on my blog.
Sealed is an autobiographical radio documentary which explores divorce and its lingering effect on children. Nearly two decades after their parents' separation, four siblings reflect on its aftermath.
Research shows that most long-term effects on children of divorced parents are common across family circumstance. As such, Sealed proves relatable and cathartic for a wide-ranging audience.
